Leading The Way

TJam is beginning to regret letting me choose the walk this morning. Let's see if she can fit through here...

Wellies

If you look closely at this photo it looks like I have two tiny pink wellies coming out of my mouth.

I haven't, by the way, just in case you were wondering.

Academics

Beanz and I are helping TJam write an assignment. We are much more helpful than we look.

Posing

Today I have been posing. Not bad if I say so myself.

Don't Mind Us

We're just appreciating each other for a moment.

Living to Serve

I decided to cheer everyone up today by rolling in fox-poo but not letting on and then letting TJam kiss my head.

I thought it went down rather well. Chips would definitely have approved.

Lucky

Luckily for me, TJam got distracted on the drive to my walk and we ended up half way to her work. As we were passing this lovely park anyway, we decided to have our walk here instead. Silver linings and all that.

Playmate

TJam hopes I haven't seen this potential playmate and the especially hopes that Carlsberg hasn't seen it.

Drinking

WHAT?! I am just having a little drink.

Ps in case you are worried, the water is not even 6 inches deep in this corner and also TJam is going to get some bigger netting as of today and the discovery of my new intrepidation.

Logic

There was a rabbit here yesterday so my logic tells me there should be a rabbit here every day.

Greenhouse

I'll tell you one thing, I'm glad we kept the greenhouse after all.

Mantle

I have successful taken over the mantle of telling the time. I won't starve.

We went down to thank the vet today for all their care over the years. Everyone agreed that, given all the scrapes we've been in it's a miracle Chips and I made it to old age at all. Of course the vet team only know HALF of what really happened in the last 12 years. If they ever read this blog they'd probably strike us off their list.

Exploring

I think this picture speaks for itself.

My Friend Chips - by Beanz

When TJam went to the dogs home in 2002 she brought home two black dogs.
I was the puppy. Chips was the boss.

She helped me settle in. I didn't even know how to be in a house at first.
But I soon got used to the idea of having a bed!

She was very patient but she kept me in line and
made me the non-confrontational being I am today.

You've seen the adventures over the years.
TJam says she had to start this blog to help her cope with it.
I say it would have been selfish not to have shared our fabulousness.
Our antics have got slightly less outrageous and slightly more age appropriate recently.
Mostly.

Chips and I have done almost everything together.
TJam tried to practise us apart, but mostly we have been the best of friends.
Together.

The last couple of weeks, Chips has been off her food.
If you've learnt anything at all over the past 12 years, it is that Chips does not go off her food.
So she had to go to the vet.
They tried some stuff, but long story short, that is why I am pensive today.

Yesterday, Chips finished her stint here with me.
No more taking my toys and sitting on me when I am trying to sleep.
No more being my pillow.

Carlsberg and I got to see her and say our goodbyes in our own ways.
I mostly said my goodbyes by laying in the garden, and Carlsberg did a walk past.

Now I have to take on the mantle of knowing when it is 12noon and 5.00pm so
I can remind TJam to feed me.

Chips has taught me everything dog that I needed to know,
and some things the humans wish I didn't.

This was our last picture together.
Goodbye Chips, my boss and my ally.
It's ok that you blamed the sofa-eating incident on me.
 It's weird without you.

If I find any poo, I'll eat a lump for you my friend.
It's the least I can do.

Pensive

I am feeling a bit pensive, truth be told. I will blog about it soon.

Chasing next door's cat did take the edge off my thoughts for a moment though.

Poster Girl

I am the unwilling poster girl for having sun cream on a pink nose.

Do it.

Radiotherapy is not fun. I mean, it probably beats having your nose cut right off but still, prevention is better than cure.

Here ends the public health announcement. Enjoy you sunny Sunday. Keep pink bits safe!
