Introducing Wheels

Today I laid on Beanz's lovely beanbag bed. Truth be known I have been laying on it solidly for 9 days. I haven't even gone up to lie on the humans' bed at night. I only got up to eat and ... well... the other thing us cats are good at (apart from hunting).

While I sunned myself, Bamgee, TJam and Beanz went to the park to see Bready and Wheels.
They were celebrating Wheels's 2nd birthday.

Wheels fed the ducks. He is so run-aroundy that he wears a lead, just like Beanz.

Between the house and the car, TJam misplaced Beanz's lunch, so TJam had to share her cheese and mustard sandwich with Beanz. Beanz seemed quite happy about it.

Then they went on a Spooky Walk. Wheels has started talking to he could shout about the FACEs and SPIDERs that were hidden around the walk.

I'm not sure if TJam was expecting to sit on her beanbag chair when she got home, but in any case that was never going to happen. I have decided it is time for a change of scene.

Karma

It was a beautiful day today, so we went for a walk in the woods and TJam took her camera.

It all started well, TJam taking pictures of us...

I wasn't jealous when TJam took a picture of Chips

but then TJam started messing around with the settings on her camera and neglecting us

So I totally photobombed her scenic attempts.

The balance of the world is restored.

Scan

After I had my blood test, the vet said I would need a scan of my liver because I had some slightly raised enzymes. TJam sneakily took me to a different surgery (where the scanner lives) so I didn't realise where I was until she walked away and left me. But worse still, I DID NOT GET ANY BREAKFAST! Can you imagine?

TJam took the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with Beanz. They went to this enormous mountain...

Oh, wait, it was just a big rock.
Apparently, Beanz found herself a boyfriend and invited him to play. This is the first dog she has invited to play in 10 years. It would seem I cramp her style.

Meanwhile, I had my scan, which was pretty much fine, and I got some liver supplements. It is not yet clear whether these are "neurotic owner" supplements or whether they will bring my enzymes down, but I don't mind them, so it doesn't matter.

Here I am showing off my newly shaved belly. Brrrr. Couldn't you have taken me in the summer, TJam?

Triathlon

I had a little go at a triathlon on my walk.
First, a little swim...

... followed by a bracing run...

... and finally a "run while carrying a stick" because I found riding a bicycle too difficult.

Quiet Reflection (or not)

We have had a brilliant walk this week. We set off with Nero and his pal (Nerospal)...

I had a little stop off in the lagoon. I imagined it was orange sauce.

Next I perfected my Indianna Jones and the Bin Raiders pose. I might ask TJam if we can have it as our header. I just need a proper hat.

We went right up to the top of the hill. Suddenly I noticed Nero and his Pal were having some thoughtful time alone:

I wasn't having any of that, so I bundled in for a bit of fun and games. Chips had the same idea at the same time.

That said, I do like a bit of quiet time myself, so I took myself off to a corner to survey the landscape (and check for sheep) and reflect on ...

... well, that's private. A dog has to maintain a certain air of mystery :)

Good Dogs

Pin and Huddersfield Town came on a walk with us to the top of one of our favourite hills.
Beanz and I were on our best behaviour and there are no comedy stories to tell. TJam says thank goodness but I can tell you are disappointed so I will store up my brownie points for some sculldugary and shinanigans when the humans least expect it...

Two Blogs Collide

Last weekend, two blogs collided and we met Loki!
As Chips mentioned, I was a little bit scared of him at first. Chips was not.
We met each other in the woods.

TJam was concerned she was never going to get a decent photo of this livewire. It wasn't as though he was going to sleep any time soon...

Being the consummate professional that she is though (and thanks to her brilliant camera phone) she did manage to snap this one, which pretty much sums up the pup.

As you saw before, we all went walking in Darmoor. Lucky we chose a dry path...

In the evening, the humans had strawberries from the strawberry patch. Chips helped herself to a couple too...

One lunch time, Moptop made the humans a fabulous lunch on very posh plates. Or should I call them "platters".

Sorry to say, none of it fell on the floor.

We had a great weekend and slept all the way home. We could hardly drag ourselves out for a last stroll.

PS Ogg and Magrat, handsome cats, I am sorry I accidentally chased you. I hope you have recovered. Loki led me astray you see...

Grand Old Duke of York

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Grand Old Duke of York
She had ten thousand dogs men

She marched them up to the top of the hill

And she marched them down again

And when they were up they were up

And when they were down they were down
And when they were only half way up

They were neither up

Nor down (ok, so we ran out of "down" pictures).

New Toy

We have a new toy! It is amazing. It tells us where we have walked, how far we went, how fast and all stuff like that. TJam carried it today while she got used to it, and one day us dogs might get to wear it, but as yet it is not waterproof so maybe TJam will have to keep hold of it after all.

This morning we went all this way:

Look how fast TJam thinks she went. She should let ME wear it. It would probably say 100mph then!

Dog Maths and Squirrels

The thrill of the chase is directly proportional to the length of the lolling tongue. Only in this picture I pulled my tongue in to disguise my delight but you can still see the glint in my eye.

I had a quick drink but was still on high squirrel alert...

If you click on this picture to make it big, you might just be able to make me out at the bottom of the middle tree and my nemesis squirrel spreadeagled about half way up the trunk.

What a GREAT walk!
Darn those pesky squirrels!

Lovely Walk

Today we all went for a walk in High Park. It was lovely, and us dogs were mainly well behaved except that I grumped at another dog and got into trouble and the owner cried, even though it was all handbags at dawn. But apart from that it was a lot of fun, and the humans went to Papa Luigi's for lunch. It was sad when everyone had to say goodbye as everyone had a wonderful weekend.

BB for Noisette

Today our new friend Noisette came for the afternoon. She said us dogs were on urr BB. That's "best behaviour" for the uninitiated. Which, of course, makes TJam out to be a liar when she tells terrible tales, but she'd rather be a liar with BB dogs, than telling the truth about the ASBO brigade, especially when new friends are concerned.

It puts me in mind of a time when TJam was making a new friend, Thistle, and we went to the beach for the first time. Beanz went behind some public toilets and ate something that I can't tell you here, suffice to say someone mustn't have had their 5p to hand. About 10 minutes from home TJam tried to casually disguise a terrible smell by opening the window, but there was no diguising this smell. Beanz had puked up her treasure down the side of the back seat of the new car (with our new friend in).

Anyway, end hazy memory sequence and back to the present day. Noisette came for a walk with us and it was all very nice. Note to TJam: don't try to cook when new friends come to tea. Or at least, make sure you have some form of ingredients in the house before they arrive, or they will be obliged to smile and say, "yum" when eating some mushrooms, kidney beans and a green pepper.
